birthday cake

so yesterday we had a reason to celebrate and an even bigger reason to eat cake. it was my boyfriends birthday and that was a fantastic reason to try out a recipe I saw on the happy pear’s YouTube channel. and let me tell you it was fantastic. those guys know what they are talking about and their recipes are easy to follow and just delicious. when you go to their channel look for the video called two cakes one dough.


I got a little creative and just mixed the two cakes to my liking and let me tell you it was so very nice and everyone enjoyed it and there was nothing left by the end of the evening. here is a list of ingredients you will need:

for the dough
500g wholemeal spelt flour or buckwheat flour
5g salt
50g maple syrup/sugar/other sweetener
300g almond milk (or any)
15g fresh Yeast or 7g dried yeast

for chocolate hazelnut filling
200g dark chocolate
roasted hazelnuts

when you make the dough you need to leave it for an our to rise. you can also leave it in the fridge over night (which is what I did) and then prepare it the next day. you cook the dough for about 20 minutes at 200°C. go mad and try it out!
